One of my courses has been co-created with a teacher and this year she wants to take the course and run it by herself. Is it possible to simply change the course provider or does the teacher have to apply herself with her own credentials and QA Manual etc? She's not currently a course provider so I assume she will have to go through the process herself.
If a teacher/tutor wants to run a course themselves, they will have to set themselves up as a course provider and fill out a new application form and QA manual (for online/Blended), which will go through the inspectorate process
-
We would like to keep our approved course the same but change the name to better reflect the course content. What is the process for this?
If the provider wants to change the course name, they will need to make a new application with that name.
-
If you are approved already for a face to face course, can you run it online and submit a manual?
No, you would have to fill out a new application for an online course and submit a QA manual.
-
I have an approved application but I don't wish to run a course this year what should I do?
If you do not wish to run a course from your approved application(s) please do not complete the "Add a Course" form under the "HOST A COURSE" dropdown menu.
-
How many participants can you have with an online course?
A minimum of ten registered teachers will be enrolled for a course to proceed. The number of registered participants may not exceed 75 in a course group assigned to a specific/dedicated tutor.
-
If your tutor is not a teacher with a Teaching Council Number what do they enter instead of a number or is this question not mandatory?
This question is not mandatory, if your tutor does not have a TCN they leave the box as no and fill in the tutor qualifications & relevant experience in the following box.
-
We wish to run a second offering of an approved summer course in a second venue. We know that this would require using "Add a course" form within the HOST A COURSE dropdown men. However, the original course is in English and we wish to run the second course in Irish. What is required of providers?
If the content of an approved course is unchanged apart from the language of delivery, providers can proceed with completing "Add a Course" form(s) within the HOST A COURSE dropdown menu.
-
If a course approval timeline expires will the details still be available should we want to re-submit same form again the following year with maybe a few edits?
Closing date for summer courses is 27th February 2026. As this year is not part of a 3 year cycle, 2027 will be a whole new cycle and therefore there will be a new application form. However, you can print your application page by page.
